He also serves as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Shude College. Dr. Ji has been primarily focusing on developmental neurobiology. He is primarily interested in elucidating different posttranscriptional mechanisms regulating neuronal development, including local protein synthesis in axons and mRNA modification during neuronal development. His lab has become (one of) the most important group(s) studying mRNA modification in regulation of neuronal development and functions in the world. He has also made progresses on studying the roles of retrograde signals derived from target tissues of axon. Personal Profile Personal Profile Research Novel mechanisms regulating neural development and functions: ◆ mRNA modification ◆ Local mRNA translation in axons ◆ Retrograde signaling from axonal terminal to soma Teaching Neurobiology (Undergraduate) Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology (Graduate) Publications Read More Selected publications (*corresponding author;#equal contribution) Xin-Tai Wang#, Lin Zhou#, Bin-Bin Dong#, Fang-Xiao Xu, De-Juan Wang, En-Wei Shen, Xin-Yu Cai, Yin Wang, Na Wang, Sheng-Jian Ji, Wei Chen, Martijn Schonewille, J Julius Zhu*, Chris I De Zeeuw*, Ying Shen*. cAMP−EPAC−PKCε−RIM1α signaling regulates presynaptic long-term potentiation and motor learning. eLife 2023, 12: e80875.
