He served a 3-year tenure of education consul in the Chinese Consulate General in New York (1999-2003), promoted to the first secretary and rated as an excellent diplomat in 2002. He taught at two universities in the United States (2009-2014). He is now a distinguished professor of Yangzhou University and teaches at the College of International Studies (2014-present). His main research interests lie in intercultural communication and US-China relations and conflict resolutions. In 2018, he was awarded the National Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science Grant for the research proposal titled “A Study on the International Image Upgrading Paths of the Grand Canal of China from the Perspective of Cultural Gaming” (18BGJ086). So far, he has published 3 treatises, 8 textbooks 73 papers and book chapters in both English and Chinese and over a dozen of the papers appeared in national and international top journals.
