Her research interest is marine organic biogeochemistry. She studies the fate of organic carbon from estuaries, nearshore to trenches, and their interactions with eutrophication, hypoxia, and global climate change, using the tools of stable and radiocarbon isotopes, organic biomarkers, and microbial community dynamics and processes. She has published 30 peer-reviewed papers in journals of Geophysical Research Letters, Marine Chemistry, JGR-Biogeosciences, Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta etc.. Personal Profile Dr. Li Xinxin received her Ph.D. in Chemical Oceanography from Texas A&M University in 2013. She mainly uses biomarkers and other methods to study the biogeochemical cycling of organic carbon from the estuaries, open ocean to trenches, and their interactions with eutrophication, hypoxia, and global climate change. She is a member of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). She has published 21 peer-reviewed papers and an international seawater nutrition standard report (76 authors) in marine science journals such as Marine Chemistry, JGR-Biogeosciences, Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta.   Education 2013  PhD, Chemical Oceanography, Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA 2008 MS.   Marine Chemistry, Ocean University of China, Qingdao, China 2005  BS.    Chemistry, Qingdao University, Qingdao, China Professional Experience  2016-present  Assisstant Professor,Southern University of Science and Technology of China 2013-2016       Post Doctoral Research Associate, Texas A&M University 2010-2012      Teaching Assistant and Instructor, Texas A&M University 2008-2010     Research Assistant, Texas A&M University Personal Profile Research The biogeochemical processes of organic carbon in marine sediments and its environmental significance; The organic carbon cycling processes and mechanisms driven by microbes in marine trenches; The research of basic theoretical and applied marine organic biogeochemistry and marine environmental sciences in the field of ocean acidification, hypoxia and eutrophication.
