He studied chemistry at Nankai University and received B.S. degree in 2002. After getting his Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Li-Cheng Song in State Key Laboratory of Element-organic Chemistry (Nankai University), he joined Tianjin University. In 2016, he worked with Prof. Ya-dong Yin at University of California as a visiting scholar, funded by China Scholarship Council. Currently, he is an associate professor at department of chemistry. His research interests are focused on synthesis and evaluation of biomimetic catalysts, recently in particular on photo-induced electron transfer of functional materials.
