He is currently a Professor and one of academic pacesetters in Control theory and Control Engineering at the school of Electrical and Information Engineering, Tianjin University. Prof. Zong is currently the director of New Aircraft Guidance and Control Center of Ministry of Education, the expert group’s deputy head of Major Project of Chinese Ministry of Education, the deputy director of New Aircraft Joint Research Center. He is also serves as an Editorial Board Member for several scientific journals, including Journal of Control Theory and Applications, Journal of Astronautics, etc. Moreover, he is a Committee member of Chinese Association of Automation Control Theory Technical Committee, Guidance, Navigation and Control Technical Committee of CSAA, etc. As the project leader, he has presided over the completion of more than 30 National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key Project Foster Funds, the Ministry of Education Major Project Foster Funds, Tianjin Key Fund, Tianjin Key Scientific and Technological Projects, etc. He has authored or coauthored more than 160 peer-reviewed domestic and international journal papers, more than 20 patents and 1 monograph.His research interests include guidance, control and simulation for flight vehicle, coordination control of multi-agent system, fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control, complex system modeling and optimization control.
