Since then he has been a lecturer in school of civil engineering, and has got the mid-level title. His research involves the control of the construction schedule and quality of hydraulic and hydropower engineering. Dr. Guan has participated in a number of scientific research projects supported by foundations or enterprises, and has published more than 10 academic articles in relevant journals.
