He has been a visiting Professor in University College London in 2005 and has been a senior research fellow in University College Dublin from 2009-2011.In 2015, He was appointed as Associate Professor (tenured) of Chemical Engineering in Tianjin university. From 1997, Hongxun Hao has worked in crystal engineering area, such as crystallization technology, crystal materials, nanomaterials, separation technology etc. He has published more than 120 publications in peer-reviewed journals and applied more than 50 patents. He has also won many awards from China central or provincial goverments, such as The Tianjin Youth Scientist Award from Tianjin Municipal Government in 2007, The first prize of Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award from Tianjin Municipal Government in 2014, The Second prize of National Technology and Invention Award from the central people's government of China in 2008, The first prize of Tianjin Technology and Invention Award from Tianjin Municipal Government in 2007, The first Prize of Science and Technology Award from Ministry of Education of China in 2006.
